Lloyd Cheney
Lloyd regularly shows in Juried Exhibitions around North America. His works are originals and the pieces shown within the Ringmastertool.com gallery are all in private collections. He teaches private classes and works exclusively with the Ring Master.
Though Lloyd has a degree in math and physical sciences, it was a school shop class in 1959 that lead to a healthy addiction to hardwoods and great satisfaction in creating beauty from them.
Highly skilled in 3 woodturning techniques, Lloyd uses a combination of each in his work. Furthermore, believing the art of sanding is all but lost, he progresses through 8 grades of coarseness to ensure all tool marks and grain tear is eliminated and the optimum beauty of each wood's grain comes through. Lloyd signs each piece and permanently embeds a penny under the base to indicate the year of creation.
